Privacy Policy

PickUp Fantasy is a free fantasy league game. We collect what we need to run your account and your leagues. We don't show ads or sell your information. Product analytics are off unless you turn them on.
Information we collect
Your account
- Your email address and display name.
- A salted hash of your password. We don't store the password itself.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google (when that option is available), the account identifier and email address the provider shares with us. This may be an Apple private relay address.
- Anything you choose to add to your profile, such as a photo, bio or handle.
Your gameplay
Leagues you create or join, rosters, drafts, picks and parlays, trades, waivers, scores, league chat, notices and disputes.
Settings and devices
- Your notification preferences and, if you turn on push notifications, your device's push token.
- Your marketing email preference. This is off by default.
- Optional sign-up survey answers about your fantasy experience and how you found us. These are stored with your account and are not exported to product analytics.
Security information
- Hashed login session tokens, so we can keep you signed in and let you sign out.
- Request limits used to prevent abuse, which may include hashed versions of IP addresses and email addresses.
- Like any website or online service, our hosting providers necessarily receive your IP address and technical request logs when your device connects.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account, including sign-in, email verification and password recovery.
- To run your leagues: drafts, picks, scoring, standings, trades, waivers, chat and notifications.
- To provide and verify PickUp Plus purchases.
- To prevent abuse and keep the service working.
- If you opt in, to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
We send account emails, such as verification and password recovery, whatever your marketing preference. We don't currently send marketing campaigns.
What other people can see
Members of your leagues can see your profile (display name, photo, bio and handle), your gameplay in those leagues, and messages you post in league chat.
Product analytics
Analytics are off by default. We only send usage data to our analytics provider (PostHog) if it is configured for the app and you explicitly opt in.
If you opt in, we send:
- A random, pseudonymous ID that isn't your account ID.
- A fixed list of usage events, such as sign-up, onboarding, leagues, drafts, picks, results and app opens.
- App and operating system version.
- Event timing and durations, general error categories, counts, sport and week.
We don't send your email, chat messages, the contents of your picks, precise location, advertising ID, session recordings or a device fingerprint.
Analytics events stored by PickUp Fantasy are kept for up to 90 days.
You can turn analytics off at any time. When you do, we clear stored events, replace your pseudonymous ID with a new one and request deletion from the analytics provider. That deletion request is processed in the background and retried if it fails, so it may not happen immediately.
Service providers
We use these providers to run PickUp Fantasy. They receive only what they need for their role.
- DigitalOcean hosts our servers and data.
- Resend delivers account verification and password recovery emails.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases and, if enabled, push notifications.
- Google provides Google sign-in, only if that option is enabled.
- PostHog provides product analytics, only if configured and you opt in.
We don't show ads, sell your personal information or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
We or our providers may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service. Technical logs held by our providers are kept according to those providers' own practices.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Account. Deleting your account removes your email, display name, profile photo, bio, linked sign-in identities, sessions, messages and optional answers stored with your account.
To keep leagues fair and standings accurate for other members, your competitive history in leagues is anonymized rather than every record being deleted.
Records of Apple purchases are kept, tied to the anonymized account, so a subscription can't be reassigned to another account.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a PickUp Plus subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple account settings.
Deletion may not be immediate, and deleted information may remain in backups for some time.
Security
We use safeguards such as password hashing, hashed session tokens and request limits to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee that your information will never be accessed without permission.
Children
PickUp Fantasy isn't designed to collect personal information from children. If you're concerned that a child has given us personal information, please contact us.

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the "Last updated" date above.
